KMC has long-standing partnerships with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation & Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. These nonprofit organizations are near and dear to our KMC family and share our vision to find cures and foster social change in our community.

Great Strides
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease. People with CF have inherited two copies of the defective CF gene, one copy from each parent. Both parents must have at least one copy of the defective gene.
The CF Foundation supports research to discover and develop new CF treatments and maintains a pipeline of potential therapies that target the disease from every angle. The CF Foundation is leading the way in innovative research and drug development, promoting high-quality, individualized care, and helping people with CF live better today. Today, the Foundation is focused on developing lifesaving new therapies for larger numbers of people with CF and pursuing daring, new opportunities to one day develop a lifelong cure.
Great Strides, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraising event offers hope to those living with cystic fibrosis. Each year, approximately 125,000 people participate in nearly 300 walks across the country to support the Foundation’s mission to cure cystic fibrosis and raise awareness about this rare, genetic, life-shortening disease that makes it difficult to breathe. Great Strides provides a fantastic opportunity for family, friends, students, and colleagues to come together and make a difference. The event harnesses the power of people with a shared vision and encourages collaboration, team building, and leadership, as we take steps to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
Ronald McDonald House Charities & Tables for Tots
Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a “home-away-from-home” for families with children being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions at local hospitals. Their Mission is to provide a welcoming and convenient home base where families may take care of their basic needs so they can better focus on what really matters: caring for their critically ill or injured child. The Ronald McDonald House relies on community support. It is the only service of its kind that is open to families caring for children at any San Diego area hospital.
Since 2009 GM Business Interiors has partnered with Ronald McDonald House San Diego to host the Annual Tables for Tots fundraising event. This event brings together the incredible talent of the Architectural and Design community of San Diego, along with the generosity of the local businesses and individuals in San Diego to raise the much-needed donations for our local Ronald McDonald House to help families in need. Traditionally each Architectural and Design firm is given an unfinished child’s table and two chairs to design an “adventure” for children. They are then sold by auction at the Tables for Tots yearly event in August and all monies raised are given directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Over the past eight years "Tables for Tots" has had the privilege of donating over $700,000 to this worthy cause.
