UCSD NHERI LHPOST6 Seismic Upgrade

Services Provided: Client Representation; Construction Management

The world's largest outdoor earthquake simulator, operated by structural engineers at the University of California San Diego. Received a $16.3 million grant from the National Science Foundation to upgrade the facility to expand its testing capabilities.

The funds will enable the simulator, also commonly known as a shake table, to more realistically recreate the motion of the ground during strong earthquakes. After the upgrade, the facility will be able to test the heaviest test specimens in the world, from multi-story buildings, to bridge columns, bridge bents, wind turbines, with a full range of ground motions that can occur during an earthquake.

Scripps Coastal Medical Center, San Marcos

Located in the fast-growing North City district of San Marcos, this 14,156-square-foot clinic offers primary care for the entire family alongside radiology and laboratory services, as well as same-day care through Scripps Health Express. It opened its doors in June of 2021.

Center for Future of Surgery

Services Provided: Project Management; Architecturally Significant Equipment​

In 2012, UC San Diego opened the Center for the Future of Surgery (CFS). This $65M building hosts 45,000 square feet of educational space including 22 operative stations, endoscopy stations, as well as ICU and ED simulation suites. In Fall 2019, the CFS was expanded to include a 15 station microsurgical lab and hybrid OR/angiography suite. Supported by a full veterinary staff capable of performing Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) studies on medical devices, this visionary destination facility provides national and international training and serves as a clearinghouse for the research and development of new technologies.

Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion

Services Provided: Project Management; Architecturally Significant Equipment​

The Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion is an outpatient clinical facility on UC San Diego Health's La Jolla campus. The facility includes eight surgery suites, basic and advanced imaging, physical therapy and pain management, plus infusion and apheresis services. The four-floor, 156,000-square-foot facility opened in March of 2018.

UCSD Jacobs Medical Center

Jacobs Medical Center at UC San Diego Health is a 245-bed advanced medical center named in recognition of a $75 million gift from the Joan and Irwin Jacobs family. The 10-story, 509,500-square-foot facility opened on Nov. 20, 2016.

 

Rady Children’s Hospital Education Office Building

Services Provided: Project Management, Sub-Consulting; Staff Augmentation

The 96,000-square-foot building houses Rady Children’s Hospital doctors and executives and also provides meeting and educational spaces. The building features state-of-the-industry audio and video capabilities while supporting preliminary telemedicine operations
